Commentary by Attorney Michael Grossman
When it comes to fatal work accidents in Texas, OSHA reports rarely tell the whole story. In fact, even if they confirmed multiple serious violations, that wouldn't necessarily make things open-and-shut. Despite what many think, there isn't always an automatic process for getting a worker's family benefits or even answers after an accident. That can take far more involved independent investigations and navigating a serious legal maze to accomplish. Perhaps more happened behind the scenes here to ensure this person's loved ones got a fair outcome. My point is that people should never take that sort of thing for granted.
