Hobart Collins, 2 Injured in Car Accident in Bowie County, TX
Bowie County, TX — January 27, 2023, Hobart Collins and two others were injured following a car accident at around 7:30 a.m. along F.M. 989.
Preliminary details about the crash from authorities indicate that it happened near the intersection of Farm-to-Market 989 and Old Redwater Road.

According to initial information, 62-year-old Hobart Collins was in a Cadillac XTS said to be traveling westbound on Redwater Road. While crossing the intersection and apparently attempting to turn left onto southbound F.M. 989, a northbound Mercury Montego crashed into the side of Collins's vehicle.
As a result of the collision, both Collins and the other driver, an unidentified 23-year-old woman from Wake Village, had incapacitating injuries. An 11-year-old girl in Collins's vehicle may have been injured, as well.
Right now, police believe that the northbound Mercury disregarded a red light, causing the collision. Additional details about the crash cannot be confirmed without further investigations.
