Commentary by Attorney Michael Grossman
One of the challenges with house fires is people are quick to assume that the residents must have done something wrong. There are other possibilities to consider, though. Gas leaks, faulty wiring, defective appliances, issues from a botched installation or repair job, poor conditions of a rental property not being cared for, etc. It's important all possible factors are ruled out before folks start jumping to conclusions. If nothing else, the victim's loved ones deserve to know that no stone was left unturned.
