Jacob Fritsch Injured in Multi-Vehicle Truck Accident on Pecan Park Blvd. in Austin, TX
Austin, TX — March 25, 2023, Jacob Fritsch was injured in a six-vehicle accident around 5:02 p.m. on Pecan Park Boulevard in Austin.
Authorities report a commercial truck and trailer was eastbound on F.M. 620 when it allegedly ran a red light when it collided with a southbound Porsche Macan, a northbound GMC Denali, Jacob Fritsch's northbound Toyota Tundra, and a traffic light pole.
The Porsche Macan struck the commercial truck on the driver's side. The GMC Denali struck the commercial truck on the passenger's side.
The Porsche Macan came to a stop facing northbound in the northbound lanes of Pecan Park Blvd on the western side of the intersection. The GMC Denali came to a rest facing southbound in the northbound lanes on the eastern side of the intersection. Jacob Fritsch's Toyota Tundra was attempting a right-hand turn from Pecan Park Blvd. onto F.M. 620 and came to a stop during that turn with the commercial truck overturned on top of its rear driver's side.
The driver of the commercial truck reportedly told the responding authorities that the brakes failed and that the driver had reported the faulty brakes to the company prior to the crash date.
Officials report Jacob Fritsch suffered serious injuries, the driver of the Porsche Macan suffered minor injuries, two occupants in the GMC Denali suffered minor injuries, and a passenger in the commercial truck suffered minor injuries.
The crash is still under investigation, and there are no further updates at this time.
