James Delk Killed in Car Accident on South RL Thornton Freeway in Dallas, TX
Dallas, TX — March 18, 2023, James Delk was killed in a single-vehicle accident around 2:39 a.m. on South RL Thornton Fwy. in Dallas.
Authorities report James Delk's Mazda 6 was headed southbound on South RL Thornton Freeway (part of I-35 E) when it struck a barrier separating the main freeway from the exit-only lane for Exit 424 Illinois Ave. Authorities also say the Mazda 6 was then disabled partially in the right traffic lane and was struck by a southbound Lincoln Mark MKZ.
Officials report that weather and visibility conditions are not suspected factors in Mr. Delk's accident, and the cause of the crash has yet to be determined.
