Commentary by Attorney Michael Grossman
I can only hope authorities are working with more information than they've provided in their preliminary public statements. If they have any more details, getting that information out to the public should be a priority. A lot of the time when authorities identify a driver, it's because someone in the community is able to help connect the dots. In fact, I've had cases where people close to the driver—a family member or romantic partner, for example—did the right thing and turned them in. Hopefully similar steps can happen here so there will be appropriate consequences.
