James Michael Howard Killed in 18-wheeler Accident in Rusk County, TX
Rusk County, TX — March 8, 2024, James Michael Howard was killed following a truck accident at 9:30 a.m. on Highway 64.
Preliminary details from officials indicate that the crash happened near County Road 421, just west of Henderson. Weather was apparently rainy at the time of the accident.

According to investigations, 53-year-old James Michael Howard was in a Peterbilt semi-truck pulling a trailer along westbound Highway 64. From the eastbound lane, it appears another tractor-trailer was allegedly driving at an unsafe speed with faulty tires. The oncoming truck lost control, went into the westbound lane, and crashed with James Howard's truck.
As a result of the collision, James Howard sustained fatal injuries. The other trucker had apparently non-life-threatening injuries. That driver was recommended to face a charge for Criminal Negligent Homicide. Right now, additional details are unavailable pending investigations.
