James Swan Killed in Single-Vehicle Accident in Carson County, TX
Carson County, TX — March 15, 2023, James Swan was killed following a car accident where Swan's vehicle crashed along Interstate 40.
Authorities said that the crash happened at around 10:00 p.m. along I-40 near mile marker 85. The area appears to be east of Amarillo at the exit for Business 40.
According to initial investigations, details suggest that 25-year-old James Swan was in a Jeep Cherokee traveling eastbound along the interstate. For reasons unclear, the Jeep lost control at the exit, causing the vehicle to run onto the grass between the exit ramp and main lanes. There, the Jeep flipped over.

Swan sustained fatal injuries as a result of the crash. No one else was said to be be involved in the crash. Right now, no additional details are available.
Commentary by Attorney Michael Grossman
Late at night, a single-vehicle wreck can raise a lot of concerns for people. But the reality is a lot of things can cause a deadly car accident, and authorities aren't always considering all of those possibilities. Proper investigations will be as thorough when considering something like manufacturing defects, for example, as they would be looking into something more common like texting and driving.
But if authorities aren't considering these details, my concern is they miss something important here which the victim's loved ones deserve to hear. What sorts of answers have come to light since the initial reports were conducted?
