Houston, TX — February 4, 2024, Javier Marquez Santos was injured as the result of a car accident at around 7:20 a.m. on Dorsett Street.
Authorities said they were called to the area of Dorsett Street and Buchanan Street, which is southwest of the I-10 and East Loop 610 interchange.
It appears that 39-year-old Javier Marquez Santos was in a Ford Edge traveling northbound on Dorsett. The vehicle apparently traveled to the left where it crashed into a parked trailer along the side of the road. As a result, Marquez Santos sustained fatal injuries.

Given available information, I have to wonder what this trailer was doing parked along the road. Generally speaking, drivers can’t just leave trailers wherever they want. It can create unnecessary, deadly obstacles. Maybe nothing like that contributed to this crash, but it’s worth attention, if only to be thorough.
But what really made me feel the need to speak on this possibility is that there are images of this stretch of road across multiple years dating back to at least 2015. It seems trucks and trailers are often parked in this area, and it makes me wonder if there have been any problems with that in the past. At the very least, did authorities take these details into account during their investigations?
