Commentary by Attorney Michael Grossman
Single-vehicle accidents can often be more complex than folks realize due to the fact they're not always seen as a high priority. This can lead to situations where authorities are too quick to move on, and they may overlook important details or make hasty conclusions without enough evidence. This is why I've had countless calls over the years from people who felt investigators were more focused on finding someone to blame than hearing out the victim's side of the story.
That's one of the reasons more thorough independent investigations are often so vital after single-vehicle wrecks. Since their focus is on letting the evidence speak for itself, it can help ensure even unlikely possible factors aren't allowed to slip through the cracks. It could be those details ultimately confirm authorities found all there is to know. But simply assuming authorities have all the details on their own isn't something to take for granted.
