Commentary by Attorney Michael Grossman
Three allegedly serious violations obviously raises red flags, and I have to wonder if OSHA is getting the whole story and ensuring the victim’s family gets the answers they need. I’ve been handling fatal work accident cases for over 30 years, and families often seek out help because OSHA never really worked to address any of their concerns. After all, OSHA has their own priorities, and Texas happens to have incredibly complex work fatality laws. That sometimes means there need to be independent investigations into a workplace fatality to ensure the victim’s loved ones actually have all the evidence they need going forward. The same could very well prove true here, as well.
