Phoenix, AZ — October 28, 2024, John McLaughlin was killed following a garbage truck accident at around 3:30 P.M. on 40th Street.
Authorities are investigating an accident involving a garbage truck that left one person dead and injured three others at the intersection of 40th and Cholla Street. According to official reports, McLaughlin was driving his truck on 40th street when for unknown reasons the pickup crossed into the opposite lane and struck another vehicle.
After the initial collision, McLaughlin’s pickup then struck a garbage truck causing sever damage to his vehicle. When first responders arrived on the scene they found McLaughlin with no signs of life and declared him deceased.
The first vehicle’s occupants were transported to a nearby hospital with minor injuries, as was the driver of the garbage truck. At this time no further information is available, and this remains under investigation.
