Commentary by Attorney Michael Grossman

I didn’t see any statement one way or another if authorities looked into alcohol as a factor here. If someone is on the wrong side of the road, that’s often a sign they were not in their right state of mind. That could then lead to investigations into where that alcohol came from and the possibility a negligent alcohol provider over-served the driver and contributed to the crash.

That said, if this was actually a vehicle crossing suddenly left of center, that could involve all kinds of potential factors. Distraction, fatigue, tire blowouts, road conditions, etc. This lack of information might just be authorities not giving information publicly, or it could be a sign they never gave the crash the attention it needed. That’s why it can be crucial for people involved in an accident to gauge if they’re satisfied with answers they’re getting from authorities or if they feel there should be a second set of eyes looking things over.
