Joseph Caballero Injured in Motorcycle Hit-and-Run Car Accident in Edinburg, TX
UPDATE (April 26, 2024): Recent reports have been released which clarify some of the details of what took place leading up to and during this accident. According to these reports, 33-year-old Joseph Caballero was traveling on an eastbound Honda motorcycle along Chapin Street at the McColl Road intersection when the accident took place.
Officials indicate that, for as yet unknown reasons, a westbound Chevrolet Impala on Chapin Street failed to yield the right of way to eastbound traffic before attempting a left turn onto southbound McColl Road. This resulted in a collision between the front-right corner of the Impala and the front end of the motorcycle. The Impala allegedly fled the scene, the person behind the wheel neglecting to stop and render aid of any sort to Caballero. Reports state that both the Impala and its driver were later located by authorities.
Caballero incurred reportedly severe injuries as a result of the hit-and-run accident. No other injuries have been reported. The investigation continues
Edinburg, TX — April 2, 2024, Joseph Caballero was injured in a motorcycle versus hit-and-run car accident at approximately 9:30 p.m. along McColl Road.
According to authorities, the accident took place where McColl Road and Chapin Street intersect.

The causal factors that led to the accident remain unclear. Officials indicate that, for reasons yet to be confirmed, a Chevy Impala struck a motorcycle at that location. The man from the Impala allegedly fled the scene, neglecting to stop and render aid of any sort to the injured motorcyclist. Reports state, however, that he was later located.
The man who had been riding the motorcycle reportedly incurred suspected severe injuries as a result of the wreck. He was transported to a local medical facility by emergency medical services in order to receive necessary treatment. No other injuries have been reported.
Additional details pertaining to this incident—including the identity of the victim—are not available at this point in time. The investigation is currently ongoing.
