Commentary by Attorney Michael Grossman
One of the most challenging things for folks to do reading details like these is to put aside their desire to jump to conclusions. The reality of truck wrecks is that they can involve all kinds of factors, and early details from authorities rarely tell the whole story.
It’s possible there were extenuating, unavoidable circumstances that led to the crash which may require tools or experience authorities may not have. Or, there may have been a straight-forward, obvious cause which authorities handle all the time. Or, the truth could be some combination of unusual and common factors that need to be diligently sorted through.
At the end of the day, it’s up to the evidence to tell the story. Hopefully authorities have been working behind the scenes to get the victims and families involved the full story they deserve, but sometimes it takes a more direct approach to ensure there are no unanswered questions.
