Juan Carlos Acosta Killed in Car Accident on U.S. 75 in Richardson, TX
UPDATE (June 3, 2024): Recent reports have been released which clarify some of the details of what happened leading up to and during this accident. According to these reports, 40-year-old Juan Carlos Acosta was traveling in a southbound Nissan Armada SUV in the HOV lane of North Central Expressway. Officials indicate that the Nissan may have been traveling at high speeds. As the Nissan attempted to merge back into the main lanes of the highway, it reportedly struck an attenuator. This impact caused the Nissan to also veer into a concrete wall. The vehicle overturned over the course of the accident, reportedly coming to a stop on its roof in the right-most exit lane of the highway. The second SUV that was involved in the accident was apparently struck by debris from the Nissan. No one in the second SUV suffered any injuries. Acosta was fatally injured. The investigation continues.
Richardson, TX — May 4, 2024, one person was killed following a car accident at approximately 2:00 a.m. along U.S. Highway 75.
According to authorities, the accident occurred on U.S. Highway 75 in the vicinity of Spring Valley Road.

The cause of the accident remains unclear. Officials indicate that, for as yet unknown reasons, two SUVs were involved in a collision. A male victim who had been an occupant one of the SUVs reportedly suffered fatal injuries and was declared deceased at the scene. The two people who had been occupants of the other SUV involved were apparently unhurt.
Additional details pertaining to this incident—including the identity of the victim—are not available at this point in time. The investigation is currently ongoing.
