Commentary by Attorney Michael Grossman
While the facts surrounding this accident are unclear right now, certain things remain consistent between every fatal work accident that's ever come across my desk. Primarily, Texas has the most complex work fatality laws in the whole country. Despite what many believe, there isn't always an automatic process for getting families benefits or a fair resolution. It often falls to them to put the pieces together and fight for a fair resolution. That's a legal maze which requires extensive evidence and unique legal strategy to navigate. OSHA can be a helpful piece of the puzzle, but it's still just one piece.
