Commentary
When a driver faces charges, folks tend to assume everything is open-and-shut. But the investigations into potential charges and the investigations into factors surrounding a serious crash are two different things. Families often find themselves needing more evidence than what preliminary police reports contained, and it wouldn't be unusual to hear the same happened with this crash. Hopefully, though, authorities were thorough enough to address both the alleged intoxicated driver's actions and the factors surrounding the crash itself.
