Justin Scott Hitt Killed, 1 Injured in Car Accident on I.H. 35 in Dallas, TX
UPDATE (July 3, 2024): Recent reports have been released which clarify some of the details of what took place leading up to and during this accident. According to these reports, a 52-year-old woman was traveling in a northbound Audi on the I.H. 35E service road in the vicinity north of Oaklawn Avenue. The Audi was reportedly attempting to merge from the center lane into the far-left of the three lanes. However, before this maneuver could be completed, a northbound Ford pickup truck that had just exited the freeway collided with the left side of the Audi. This caused the Ford to go into a clockwise spin across all three northbound lanes. As it left the roadway it reportedly overturned, coming to a stop resting on its left side after crashing into a telephone pole.
Justin Hitt, who had been a passenger in the pickup truck, was fatally injured as a result of the wreck. Authorities later learned that there was a fourth occupant of the pickup who was allegedly behind the wheel at the time of the accident. The woman from the Audi suffered minor injuries, as well, reports state. No other information is currently available. The investigation continues.
UPDATE (March 16, 2024): The man who lost his life as a result of this accident has been identified as Justin Scott Hitt, of Arlington.
Dallas, TX — March 24, 2024, one person was killed and another was injured in a car accident at approximately 2:00 a.m. along an I.H. 35 service road.
According to authorities, the accident took place along I.H. 35 at the exit to Market Center Boulevard.

The cause of the accident remains unclear. Officials indicate that two separate vehicles were involved in the crash: an SUV an a pickup truck. Reports state that after the two vehicles collided, one of them apparently crashed into a utility pole and overturned, coming to rest on its side.
One person incurred fatal injuries as a result of the accident and was declared deceased at the scene. One other victim sustained injuries of unknown severity and was transported to local medical facilities by emergency medical services in order to receive necessary treatment. No other injuries have been reported.
Additional details pertaining to this incident—including the identities of those involved—are not available at this point in time. The investigation is currently ongoing.
