Karen Glenn, Child Killed in Semi-Truck Accident in Caldwell County, TX
Caldwell County, TX — August 10, 2023, Karen Glenn and a child were killed following a semi-truck accident at around 11:07 a.m. along Highway 80.
Authorities said in preliminary statements that the collision occurred in the area of the Highway 80 and Pecan Court intersection, just outside of Luling.

Details at this time indicate that 68-year-old Karen Glenn and a 4-year-old child were in a Toyota Corolla that was traveling northwest along the highway. Glenn reportedly slowed to turn onto Pecan Court, but an 18-wheeler approaching from behind allegedly failed to control speed. The 18-wheeler slammed into the Toyota, forcing it across the roadway.
Due to the collision, both Glenn and the child in the Toyota sustained fatal injuries. There were no other confirmed injuries. Authorities said they were looking into inattention as a possible factor in the crash. No specific factors have been confirmed at this time. There appeared to be a recommendation from authorities for a failure to control speed citation, however it's unclear if any other charges are being considered. No further information is available.
