With so few details available right now, I’ll once again remind folks that single vehicle wrecks—despite misconceptions—can happen for reasons a driver doesn’t necessarily have control over. I’ve seen just about everything lead to a crash like this. Mechanical defects, road design flaws, medical conditions, tire failure, braking issues, hit-and-runs, etc. Are those as common as things like speeding, alcohol, or distracted driving? Of course not, but jumping to conclusions essentially guarantees something important will slip through the cracks. Hopefully the evidence surrounding this accident will be allowed to speak for itself.
