Kenny Bunte, 1 Killed, 1 Injured in Car Accident on F.M. 2004 in Brazoria County, TX
Brazoria County, TX — March 4, 2024, Kenny Bunte and one other person were killed while another was injured in a car accident just after 5:15 along F.M. 2004.
According to reports, a Chevrolet GMT pickup truck was traveling north on F.M. 2004 in the vicinity north of C.R. 227 when the accident took place.

The pickup truck allegedly made a U-turn and started south on F.M. 2004. It apparently moved over to the shoulder in order to allow a southbound Nissan Rogue to pass, assumingly because of its slow pace after making the U-turn. However, it reportedly reentered the active lane of traffic at an unsafe time, colliding with the right side of the Rogue. The collision caused the Rogue—occupied by a 34-year-old man—to cross over the center line and both of the northbound lanes before leaving the roadway where it overturned. It rolled an unknown number of times before coming to a stop.
The collision with the Rogue caused the pickup truck to veer left into the oncoming northbound traffic. This resulted in a collision between the front end of the pickup and the front left corner of a Nissan Frontier occupied by 46-year-old Kenny Bunte. The frontier reportedly burst into flames after the crash.
Bunte and the man from the Chevy pickup truck incurred critical injuries as a result of the wreck. The man from the Rogue sustained apparently moderate injuries, as well. All three victims were transported to local medical facilities by EMS in order to receive necessary treatment. However, neither Bunte nor the man from the Chevy were ultimately able to overcome their injuries, having later been declared deceased.
Additional details pertaining to this incident are not available at this point in time. The investigation is currently ongoing.
