Kirsten Atkins, 2 Injured in Alleged DWI Accident in Wilmer, TX
Wilmer, TX — September 15, 2023, Kirsten Atkins and two others were injured after an alleged DWI accident at around 11:10 p.m. along I-45.
Authorities released preliminary details about the accident which said that the incident happened along southbound lanes of the interstate in the area of Fulghum Road.

According to officials, 21-year-old Kirsten Atkins and an infant were in a Ford Fusion traveling southbound along the interstate. It appears a Kia Sportage was going the wrong direction, causing it to crash into Atkins's vehicle.
As a result of the collision, Atkins had injuries which were described as incapacitating. The child in her vehicle reportedly had non-incapacitating injuries, as did the Kia driver. Authorities allege that the Kia driver was under the influence of alcohol at the time of the crash and recommended charges for intoxication assault.
