Leeah Star Miles Injured in Alleged DWI Accident in Mont Belvieu, TX
Mont Belvieu, TX — March 21, 2023, Leeah Star Miles was injured as the result of a car accident allegedly involving a drunk driver on FM 565.
Authorities released details about the crash, which they say happened just before 4:30 p.m. at the intersection of FM 565 and Fisher Road.
Investigations said that 21-year-old Leeah Miles was in a Honda Civic traveling westbound along FM 565. While doing so, an oncoming vehicle apparently left its lane and crashed into the Honda.

Miles sustained injuries said to be incapacitating. The other driver did not appear to be injured. That driver was said to have been drinking. Authorities recommended there be charges for intoxication assault. No further information about the crash can be confirmed at this time.
Commentary by Attorney Michael Grossman
If it's true that alcohol led to this crash, then it wouldn't at all be surprising to see some serious consequences follow the investigations. But who all will face those potential consequences? As often as people just assume these incidents are always the fault of the allegedly drunk driver, it can be surprising when others, such as the bars that served those drivers, also face consequences.
When bars and other establishments make headlines after these kinds of accidents, it's almost always for things like recklessly over-serving someone, serving a minor, or serving friends or families after hours. Doing so can result in many possible punishments, ranging from fines to license suspension to being liable under dram shop law for the injuries resulting from the accident.
I certainly can't say right now if any of that did or is going to happen here, but I don't see enough information here to think we're seeing the full story. Further investigations could show that making things right will depend on further steps authorities may not be taking on their own.
