Leigh Ann Hamilton Marshall Killed in Tractor-Trailer Accident in Cherokee County, SC
Cherokee County, SC — April 27, 2023, Leigh Ann Hamilton Marshall was killed due to a tractor-trailer accident at around 4:30 p.m. on I-85.
Investigators said that the incident happened along the southbound lanes of the interstate near mile marker 106.
Preliminary statements from the South Carolina State Highway Patrol say that 56-year-old Leigh Ann Hamilton Marshall was in a Range Rover traveling southbound on I-85. Somehow, the Range Rover lost control. This caused the vehicle to veer to the left where it then crashed into a retaining wall. After this, the vehicle ricocheted back to the right into traffic. That's where authorities say a tractor-trailer crashed into Marshall's vehicle. The exact time between the two collisions was not specified.
As a result of the collision, Marshall sustained fatal injuries. A passenger in Marshall's Range Rover was taken to a hospital. Their condition is not clear at this time. No other injuries were reported by officials. The exact factors leading up to the crash are still under investigation. Authorities also continue to investigate the death of Timothy McNeil, who died due to a crash in the traffic stemming from this fatal wreck. No further information is available at this time.
