Luis Gonzales-Venezuela Killed in Work Accident in Edinburg, TX
Edinburg, TX — November 2, 2021, Luis Gonzales-Venezuela was killed as the result of an accident on a work site near Canton Street.
The location of the incident was in the 1200 block of Canton Street, which is in the area of Robert Vela High School, at around 9:30 a.m.

It appears that 30-year-old Luis Gonzales-Venezuela was painting at the time. Somehow, he fell off a wall that was approximately 10 feet up. He sustained fatal injuries due to the fall. No other injuries were reported.
Currently, there aren't any other confirmed details about the fatal accident. Public statements from the Occupation Safety and Health Administration show there were six alleged violations at the job site, all of which were labeled as "serious." The OSHA statement also reflected suggested penalties in the area of $26,000. Details about the current status of investigations and pending penalties remain unclear at this time.
