Luis Valles Killed in Hit-and-run Accident in El Paso, TX
El Paso, TX — October 17, 2023, Luis Valles was killed in a hit-and-run car accident sometime in the afternoon along Kansas Street.
According to reports, the incident took place at the intersection of Kansas Street and 3rd Avenue. Authorities state that emergency services arrived on the scene to find the 80-year-old Luis Valles lying unconscious and in critical condition. Valles was immediately transported to a local hospital for treatment, but was there later pronounced dead, having succumbed to the injuries he sustained during the accident.

Investigators say that the cause of the incident is unknown, but evidence at the scene of the accident indicates that, for unknown reasons, a vehicle ran over Valles and left the scene without stopping to offer aid to the victim or alert authorities to what had just occurred. The investigation is still underway; no additional details are available at this time.
