Margarita Martinez-Rodriguez Killed, 3 Injured in Car Accident in Lubbock County, TX
Lubbock County, TX — April 4, 2023, Margarita Martinez-Rodriguez was killed and three people were injured due to a car accident at around 11:00 a.m. on F.M. 41.
Investigators said that the incident happened south of Lubbock proper along F.M. 41 near the County Road 2830 intersection.

According to authorities with the Texas Department of Public Safety, 61-year-old Margarita Martinez-Rodriguez was a passenger in a car traveling along F.M. 41. The car was going eastbound and apparently going "below the speed limit" for unclear reasons. While doing so, it appears that an SUV, also eastbound, crashed into the back of the car.
Due to the collision, Martinez-Rodriguez sustained injuries which ultimately proved fatal. Three others in the car had injuries and were taken to a nearby hospital. It's unclear if anyone else was hurt. Right now, authorities have not specified a specific cause for the crash. They didn't say if any charges or citations are pending.
