Commentary by Attorney Michael Grossman
People often think that finding someone to blame is the beginning and end of a crash investigation. However, victims and families affected by a crash need as much evidence telling their side of the story as possible. That includes things like cellphone data, vehicle inspections, roadway analysis, toxicology reports, witness testimony, video of the crash from the vehicles or nearby homes or businesses, etc. Even unlikely possible factors should be ruled out or confirmed to ensure there's no room for speculation. In my more than 30 years experience, families with more evidence on their side are more likely to get the resolution they deserve. I see no reason right now why this crash would be an exception to that.
