Mario Baez Yanez Killed in Work Fall Accident in Houston, TX
Houston, TX — January 26, 2022, Mario Baez Yanez was killed due to an accident where he fell at a work site along Kelley Street.
Preliminary details surrounding the fatal work accident were released by investigators with the Occupational Safety and Health Administration. Their reports said the incident occurred at around 10:45 a.m. in the 2200 block of Kelley Street just off Waverly Street. The location appears to be a commercial property.

The OSHA reports show that 21-year-old Mario Baez Yanez was believed to be unwinding a power washer hose while on a rooftop. While doing so, Yanez somehow fell through a skylight, falling to the ground below. The fall resulted in fatal injuries to Yanez. No one else was said to be hurt.
The OSHA report listed the company investigated as Shielder Ventures, LLC. While final results are unconfirmed right now, the initial details listed three alleged violations. Two of those were listed as "willful" violations and the third was "serious." The reports reflect a total recommended penalty of $155,178. The status of these allegations and suggested penalties is unclear at this time.
