Marion Lenor Wade, One Injured in Truck Accident in Hunt County, TX
Hunt County, TX — April 6, 2023, Marion Lenor Wade and another were injured in a truck accident around 6:08 p.m. on Hwy. 276 in Hunt County.
According to authorities, a Freightliner semi-truck attempted a right-hand turn from a private drive to travel west on Hwy. 276 which resulted in a four-vehicle chain reaction accident.
A Ford Maverick, Ms. Wade's Huyndai Kona, and a Ford Explorer were all purportedly traveling westbound in a row prior to the crash. The semi-truck was reportedly blocking all lanes of traffic with its driver's side facing the oncoming westbound traffic when the crash occurred.
The Maverick attempted evasive action by swerving toward its driverside but hit the trailer head-on, Ms. Wade hit the trailer slightly further down from the Maverick, and the Explorer swerved to its passenger side. All three passenger vehicles struck the tractor-trailer in some capacity.
The Ford Maverick's nose reportedly struck the front half of the semi's trailer and the Huyndai Kona reportedly struck the rear half of the trailer. The Ford Explorer purportedly managed to miss most of the semi-truck and only clipped the back passenger side corner of the semi-truck trailer with its driver-side corner.
Officials report the Ford Maverick driver suffered serious injuries, Ms. Wade suffered minor injuries, the Ford Explorer driver was uninjured, and the truck driver was uninjured.
There are no additional details at this time.
