Marissa Edith Romero Injured in Alleged Drunk Driver Accident in San Antonio, TX
San Antonio, TX — March 17, 2024, Marissa Romero was injured following an alleged drunk driver accident just after midnight on Interstate 35.
According to officials, the crash took place along southbound lanes of I-35 near O'Connor Road.

Investigators said that 31-year-old Marissa Romero was in a Mitsubishi Lancer going along the interstate. A nearby Nissan Rogue apparently lost control and crashed into the side barrier. It then bounced back into the path of Romero's Mitsubishi, and the vehicles collided. Romero reportedly had serious injuries as a result.
Commentary by Attorney Michael Grossman
Current statements from authorities allege that the Nissan driver was under the influence of alcohol at the time of the crash. Sadly, that's not surprising at this time of day. This is when a lot of folks are out at bars, so they try to drive home drunk, and people inevitably get hurt. Holding those drivers accountable is obviously important, but it would make our roads a lot safer if those alcohol providers serving them just learned to follow the rules.
Too many of them over-serve drivers and contribute to serious accidents like this one. I've certainly seen some of the worst behavior of these bars. It'd shock people to see what all can come to light in personal injury cases against them. But anyone who's just been to a bar has likely seen with their own eyes how reckless some alcohol providers are and how little they care about their community. That's why I hope authorities aren't just going to arrest an alleged drunk driver and call it a day. Someone could have died here, and that warrants appropriate consequences for all parties responsible for that.
