Commentary by Attorney Michael Grossman

One of the biggest concerns after a crash like this is victims want to be sure their side of the story is told fairly. It can surprise folks how challenging that can be. Sometimes, just a few key questions can reveal shortcomings in the initial investigations.

For example, did investigators check for possible vehicle defects or roadway hazards that might explain why the driver lost control? Were weather, lighting, or other environmental factors properly considered? Was the crash scene documented thoroughly enough to rule out other contributing causes?

These may sound like small details, but they can make a major difference in understanding what really happened. As such, if it seems like authorities aren’t getting the full story, steps can be taken to ensure another set of eyes is looking things over.
