Michelle McCoy, Sherrie Holt, 1 Killed, 2 Injured in Car Accident in Falls County, TX
Falls County, TX — March 31, 2023 Michelle McCoy, Sherrie Holt, and one other person were killed and two were hurt in a car accident at 3:53 p.m. on U.S. 77.
Investigators said that the crash happened just west of Chilton along U.S. Highway 77. Roadways were apparently wet at the time of the fatal collision.

From initial statements, it appears that 41-year-old Michelle McCoy was a passenger in a Lexus RX which was going southbound along the highway. From northbound lanes, it appears a Fiat somehow lost control. This caused the Fiat to veer into oncoming lanes where it then collided with the Lexus.
McCoy died as a result of the crash. Two people in the Fiat also sustained fatal injuries. Officials identified one of those victims as 50-year-old Sherrie Holt. Two others who were in the Lexus were injured and taken to hospitals. Their current conditions are unclear. Right now, authorities continue to look into the circumstances surrounding the crash. No further information is available.
