Miriam Garcia III Injured in Hit-and-Run Car Accident on Northwest Fwy. in Harris County, TX
Harris County, TX — March 21, 2024, Miriam Garcia III was injured in a hit-and-run car accident just before 7:15 p.m. along Northwest Freeway, U.S. 290.
According to authorities, 50-year-old Miriam Garcia III was traveling in a westbound Mercedes-Benz on Northwest Freeway in the vicinity northwest of Huffmeister Road when the accident took place.

The weather and road conditions in the area at the time were reported to have been rainy and wet. Officials indicate that, for reasons yet to be confirmed, a westbound vehicle of unknown make or model collided with the rear-end of a Toyota Camry. This collision caused the Camry to veer right, resulting in a secondary collision between the front end of the Camry and the back left of the Mercedes-Benz.
The unknown vehicle allegedly fled the scene of the accident, neglecting to stop and render aid of any sort to the victim. Garcia incurred suspected severe injuries as a result of the wreck; she was transported to a local medical facility by EMS in order to receive necessary treatment. No other injuries have been reported.
