Houston, TX — July 11, 2024, a man sustained injuries following a single-vehicle motorcycle accident at around 1:06 a.m. along Idaho Street.
Officials said in preliminary statements that the crash happened near the intersection of Idaho Street and Paris Street.
Investigators said that a 32-year-old man was on a Harley-Davidson motorcycle going westbound on Idaho. Authorities say that a power line was downed due to storms. The motorcycle hit the downed lines, crashing as a result.
Due to the accident, the motorcyclist was seriously injured. No other injuries were reported.
Commentary by Attorney Michael Grossman
What I’m wondering is how much time passed between the lines being downed and the accident. If the storms had just passed through, there may not have been any opportunity to clear the lines or get responders to the scene to block off the roadway. But if the lines were there for some time, it would raise serious questions about why something wasn’t done before an accident happened.
