Commentary by Attorney Michael Grossman
Facts surrounding this crash aren't clear right now, and I just hope investigators are being fair in their efforts. It's a concern anytime a motorcyclist is involved in a crash, since a lot of people are negatively biased against them. This sometimes leads to hasty conclusions and incomplete investigations.
Independent investigators usually focus on gathering evidence first and foremost, which allows for an unbiased accounting of the facts. It's possible authorities are taking those steps here, but it's something I learned never to take for granted. There may need to be more than one set of eyes on this crash to make sure it gets the attention it deserves.
