Motorcyclist Killed in Truck Accident on I-80 near Davis, CA
Yolo County, CA — August 26, 2025, one person was killed due to a motorcycle versus truck accident at around 4:45 a.m. along I-80.
Authorities with the California Highway Patrol said that the accident happened near Mace Boulevard on I-80, several miles west of Sacramento.

According to initial statements, a motorcyclist was going eastbound along the interstate through a construction zone. Authorities say the motorcycle and a tractor-trailer somehow collided. Following this, the motorcyclist was hit by another vehicle—possibly a dump truck—which then fled the scene.
Due to the accident, the motorcyclist sustained fatal injuries. No other injuries were reported. At this time, additional details about the crash are unavailable.

If it's true that there was a truck involved in this that left the scene, were authorities able to get any video of the crash? Releasing images of the truck in question, or even just a description, could be vital in tracking down that driver. That's especially true with commercial trucks, since there could be businesses or workers in the area who crossed paths with that vehicle. The sooner someone can come forward, the sooner the victim's loved ones can continue to search for answers. Just letting a driver leave the scene without any scrutiny isn't going to do any good.
