Mount Dora Man Killed, 1 Injured in Truck Accident on U.S. 441 in Marion County, FL
Marion County, FL — April 22, 2023, a Mount Dora man was killed and one was injured after a semi-truck accident at around 3:15 p.m. on U.S. Highway 441.
Officials with the Florida Highway Patrol say that the crash took place in the area of U.S. Highway 441 and Northwest 77th Street, north of Ocala.

According to preliminary statements, a 41-year-old Mount Dora man was said to be in a pickup going southbound along the highway. Traffic ahead was said to be stopped due to a red light at the intersection. Approaching the light, authorities claim the pickup did not slow down in time, and it crashed into the back of the semi-trailer.
As a result of the collision, the driver of the pickup, unidentified at this time, sustained fatal injuries. It appears there was a woman in the semi that had injuries which appeared to be minor. No other injuries were reported. At this time, authorities continue to investigate the factors leading to the crash.
