One of the challenges with a bus accident like this isn't just due to how they're often more chaotic crash scenes. After all, bigger, heavier vehicles with more passengers are bound to create quite the complex accident scene for authorities to handle. Beyond that, though, there has to be a consideration for the entity running the buses and if their behavior had any role in the crash.
Was this a worker who was behind the wheel for too long? Were they adequately trained? Were they on their phone? Have they made mistakes before? Was the bus not being properly maintained? Did it have known issues that drivers pointed out to their supervisors?
If these questions aren't being asked, the investigations may only catch a small glimpse of the larger picture. Ultimately, it's important to investigate these possible factors both for the sake of the victims involved and for the community as a whole, who have an interest in knowing this sort of thing isn't going to happen again.
