Dallas, TX — November 30, 2024, Nicholas Pinkard was killed and another person was injured after a motorcycle accident at 4:50 p.m. on Guaranty Street.

According to officials, 44-year-old Nicholas Pinkard was a pedestrian who was on foot at the time. While in the roadway, details say that a motorcyclist failed to yield, striking Pinkard in the road. The motorcyclist was thrown from the bike as a result.

Any mention of the possibility of alcohol is obviously going to raise some red flags. However, that wouldn’t necessarily make things open-and-shut. Seeing accountability after a drunk driving accident can extend beyond just the drunk driver’s actions if evidence shows a local alcohol provider over-served them. Let me explain why that’s important to shine a light on.
Simply put, alcohol providers in Texas who over-serve someone that’s obviously intoxicated can potentially face criminal investigations, fines, suspended licenses, or liability for resulting deaths or injuries. These potential avenues help provide an opportunity to see a wrongdoer held accountable for their actions just as charges against drunk drivers do. But beyond that, so long as a negligent alcohol provider is left to continue over-serving people, others are bound to be harmed by their behavior. Seeing them held accountable gets them to clean up their act so others don’t have to suffer.
That’s why there may be a lot more to this accident than preliminary reports suggest. Even authorities sometimes overlook the fact that drunk drivers often have an accomplice who contributed to the deadly accident. So if authorities are being thorough here, they should be looking into whether or not there’s an alcohol provider who contributed to this deadly accident.
