One Injured in Car-Bus Accident on Rt. 124 in Gaithersburg, MD
Gaithersburg, MD — March 23, 2023, one adult was injured in a car-bus accident around 8:30 a.m. on Midcounty Highway Route 124 in Gaithersburg.
According to authorities, a school bus and a passenger van were traveling in the same direction on Midcounty Highway Rt. 124 when the van rear-ended the bus. Officials report the bus did not have any students on board when it was rear-ended by a passenger van, but the van reportedly became trapped under the bus and the driver had to be distracted by a fire and rescue crew.
The driver of the van reportedly suffered serious injuries, while the bus driver and a passenger in the van purportedly suffered minor injuries. Authorities report all three people were transported to a medical center.
The cause of the crash is still under investigation.
