One Injured in Truck Accident on I-44 in Fidelity, MO
Fidelity, MO — April 11, 2023, a truck driver was injured in a multi-truck accident on Interstate 44 around 3:15 a.m. in Fidelity.
According to authorities, a truck hauling cattle was involved in a single-vehicle accident that resulted in the truck overturning and releasing the cattle onto I-44. A second westbound semi-truck purportedly attempted an evasive maneuver to avoid a collision with the loose cows, but this maneuver resulted in the truck overturning. Officials report a third semi-truck ended up disabled and had to be towed away from the crash scene, however, officials did not release if this semi-truck was also trying to avoid the cows.
One driver was reportedly transported to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, a second driver remained on the scene, and there is information regarding the third driver.
The crash allegedly took several hours to clear, but the cause of the first truck accident is still unknown.
