Duval County, TX — November 27, 2023, Orlando Garcia was injured following a hit-and-run accident that happened around 4:10 p.m. along U.S. Highway 59.
Authorities said in their statements that they were called to the area west of Freer and the Highway 44 intersection.
It appears that 23-year-old Orlando Garcia was in a Dodge Ram pulling a trailer along westbound lanes of the highway. Details suggest that a red pickup going the opposite direction was apparently in the wrong lane approaching Garcia. Garcia reportedly swerved to avoid that vehicle, causing the Dodge and its trailer to go off-road, then back to the left across highway lanes where they then overturned. The red pickup left the scene.

Garcia had incapacitating injuries as a result of the accident, details say. The other driver apparently was not located following the accident, and it’s unclear if authorities have since identified any suspects. Even if they haven’t, continuing to put these details in the public eye could be crucial in reach a resolution of some sort. Hit-and-runs are often resolved because someone is able to connect the dots and identify the driver for authorities. Hopefully the community is still vigilant and doing anything they can to help out so that the person responsible for all of this answers for their actions.
