Lubbock, TX — August 6, 2025, Orlando Garza was injured as the result of a car accident at around 9:29 p.m. along Slide Road.
According to officials, the incident took place near the Slide Road and 54th Street.
Officials said that 39-year-old Orlando Garza was on a Yamaha motorcycle going northbound on Slide Road. A Mercedes-Benz was going westbound when it reportedly crossed paths with the motorcycle. As a result, the vehicles collided.
Orlando Garza was seriously injured in the accident. No other injuries were confirmed. At this time, additional details are unavailable.

If this happened where police say it did, and these preliminary details are accurate, it’s challenging to envision a likely scenario where the westbound vehicle isn’t violating the motorcycle’s right-of-way. However, authorities don’t mention that at all. I just hope this isn’t a case of people immediately blaming a motorcyclist for a crash without actually looking at the facts. It’s an all too common occurrence I deal with, and it takes bringing all the evidence to light to set the story straight. Hopefully those steps are being taken here to ensure the story is being told fairly.
