Kansas City, MO — March 15, 2024, two people were killed and two others were injured following a multi-vehicle truck accident at about 5:10 a.m. along I.H. 435.
According to authorities, a Nissan Versa was allegedly at a stop in the eastbound lanes of Interstate Highway 435 in the vicinity of 103rd Street when the accident occurred.

Officials indicate that a Ford Explorer collided with the Nissan for as yet unknown reasons. Following the initial collision, the Nissan was apparently involved in a secondary collision, having been struck by an 18-wheeler with a trailer in tow.
The backseat passenger of the Nissan incurred reportedly fatal injuries due to the wreck and was declared deceased at the scene. The front-seat passenger from the Nissan, the driver of the Nissan, and the driver of the Ford all incurred suspected severe injuries resulting from the crash. They were each transported to local medical facilities by emergency medical services in order to receive treatment. However, the victim who had been the front-seat passenger in the Nissan was apparently unable to overcome the severity of their injuries, having later been declared deceased.
Additional details pertaining to this incident—including the identities of those involved—are not available at this point in time. The investigation is currently ongoing.
