Commentary by Attorney Michael Grossman
People tend to just write off pedestrian accidents because they assume they're simple or open-and-shut. Unfortunately, that approach can lead to shallow, incomplete investigations. And with the victim not able to tell their side of the story, it can be even more crucial to ensure there are thorough investigations so the family knows they're getting all the facts. If authorities haven't done that here, it's important to know as soon as possible so steps can be taken to pick up the slack.
