One of the best things authorities can do in these situations is get as much information out to the public as possible. Someone may be able to connect the dots and come forward with information that can help lead authorities to an arrest. Then, steps can be taken to find out why the driver fled the scene and whether or not there are other factors that warrant further attention or additional consequences. Both victims’ loved ones as well as the community as a whole deserve to know there will be repercussions for a driver responsible for this sort of accident.
