Austin, TX — September 1, 2024, a pedestrian was injured following a hit-and-run car accident at approximately 8:30 p.m. along the I.H. 35 service road.

According to authorities, a 77-year-old man was on foot attempting to cross the southbound I.H. 35 service road in the vicinity of the Park 35 Circle intersection when the accident took place.

The cause of the accident remains unclear. Officials indicate that, for as yet unknown reasons, the man was struck by a motor vehicle. The vehicle reportedly fled the scene, the person(s) inside failing to stop and render aid of any sort to the victim. The pedestrian suffered reportedly critical injuries as a result of the wreck; he was transported to a local medical facility by EMS in order to receive immediate treatment.
