Nueces County, TX — August 17, 2024, one person was injured following a pedestrian versus hit-and-run car accident just after 12:30 a.m. along Up River Road.
According to authorities, a 37-year-old man was on foot walking on Up River Road in the vicinity west of the Nueces Bay Boulevard intersection when the accident took place.

The cause of the accident remains unclear. Officials indicate that, for as yet unknown reasons, a collision took place between the pedestrian and an eastbound Ford F-150 pickup truck. The truck allegedly fled the scene of the accident, the 70-year-old man inside failing to stop and render aid to the victim.
The pedestrian suffered reportedly serious injuries as a result of the impact; he was transported to a local medical facility by EMS in order to receive necessary treatment. Additional details pertaining to this incident—including the identity of the victim—are not available at this point in time. The investigation is currently ongoing.
